Rumour: Blues Eye Bendtner Loan

Sky Sports understand that Everton are keen on a loan move for Arsenal's forward Nicklas Bendtner.

The Denmark international has made it clear that he wishes to leave the Emirates after becoming frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities. Manager Arsene Wenger handed Bendtner just 3 League starts last season, with the vast majority of his appearances (14) coming from the bench.

Wenger has left Bendtner out of Arsenal's squad for their pre-season tour of Asia and has confirmed he would allow the striker to leave after seven years at the club. However, it may not be the case that Arsenal are prepared to send their player out on loan.

Bendtner, who has scored goals in the Champions League and at the World Cup, has previously been linked with a move to the German Bundesliga as well as Blackburn Rovers.

StickyToffee Verdict: Many are quick to dismiss the Dane, which probably has a lot to do with his reputation. In footballing terms, however, he is actually a very decent player who has scored goals in the Champions League for Arsenal. I would be very happy to welcome him to Goodison.
