SkySports.com understand that Everton have joined Celtic in the hunt for Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell.Ridgewell is likely to leave the Midlands club before the close of the transfer window and could be a replacement for Phil Jagielka, should he leave to join Arsenal.
The 27-year-old helped Birmingham to the League Cup title last year but Birmingham may sell after relegation to the Championship.
Celtic are also thought to be interested as they try to bring in cover for Emilio Izaguirre, who is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines, whilst Everton could make a move for Ridgewell if either of Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines leave the club.
