Rumour: Beanpole To Solve Striking Problem?

An unlikely one I know, but clubcall are reporting that Peter Crouch is the most likely striker to leave Tottenham this Summer, with the website also claiming that Everton are one of a number of clubs interested.

The rumours have emanated from the agent of Crouch's fellow striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, a fella called Oleg Artemov.

Artemov is trying to earn a new deal for his client, and claims that talks will only begin once Spurs have offloaded Peter Crouch.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Artemov said: "I expect to talk nearer to the transfer window's closing time. At the moment he (Hawwy Redknapp) is too busy. He needs to sell players and to buy new ones. Two or three teams are interested in Peter Crouch."

Artemov names these teams as Sunderland and Stoke, before going on to say: "So he (Crouch) is the most likely to be the one of the five Spurs attackers to leave."

StickyToffee Verdict: The three sources in this story are Clubcall, the Daily Star and Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent. Need I say more?
