Remembering the ninety-six

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, 15th April 1989.

It was FA Cup semi-final day. Everton should have been celebrating a 1-0 win over Norwich City, but as news of the tragic events at Hiolsborough filtered through there was nothing but incredible sadness amongst all football fans.

Ninety-six Liverpool fans went to watch their side and never returned home. At 15:06 their match with Nottingham Forest was abondoned amid horrific and ugly scenes that changed the face of football forever.

The fight for justice continues, but today is a day for quiet rememberance. They are gone but not forgotten.

Those ninety-six will never, ever walk alone.
